Provincetown Housing Playbook
Under the direction of the Town Manager, Town Staff and the Housing Office has drafted the initial Provincetown Housing Playbook. The Housing Playbook is a living document, will evolve, and be updated on a regular basis. Essentially, the Playbook gathers all of the Town’s tools and strategies into one document. There are three sections: traditional affordable housing, community housing, and seasonal workforce housing. The Housing Specialist is visiting many different boards & committees for input. The Town is expanding the conversation beyond the traditional affordable to include middle income and seasonal workers that are being squeezed out. Read a draft of the Housing Playbook (PDF) dated October 2016 and forward your comments and questions! A new draft is in the works.
The Community Housing Council was established at the April 2007 Special Town Meeting council to oversee the Provincetown Housing Office; to perform all of the functions of the Provincetown Local Housing Partnership, and to administer the Affordable Housing Trust
Community Housing Council Mission Statement: The mission of the Provincetown Community Housing Council (CHC) is to foster the development of community housing opportunities that support socio-economic diversity for residents of Provincetown through planning, resource identification, and community outreach.
